Collect the following items:

Deep Fryer
  • A deep fryer capable of at least 375 degrees f.
  • GE makes a good deep fryer, such as the one pictured here.
  • Follow the manufacturer directions for operating the fryer.

  • Oil
  • Some vegetable oil, or peanut oil for the deep fryer.
  • Peanut oil is superior in taste and quality, but more expensive.
  • You can mix vegetable oil and peanut oil, 50/50 for example.
  • Follow the manufacturer directions for filling the fryer with oil.

  • Chicken
  • 1.5 to 2 lbs. (1 dozen) first and second wing sections (thawed).
  • Tyson Chicken Wingettes will do if you don't want to chop your own.

  • Hot Sauce
  • Frank's Original Red Hot Sauce.
  • Accept no substitute.

  • Pepper
  • Fresh ground pepper.

  • Garlic
  • Garlic powder (with parsley).

  • Now that you've collected the necessary ingredients,
it's time to put it all together....

    Preparation:

    Thaw, Rinse, Drain
  • Thaw, rinse, and drain the raw chicken wings.
  • Allow the wings to drain for about one hour.
  • Well drained wings will reduce water contamination in the fryer oil.

  • Mix The Sauce
  • Pour 1/2 to 3/4 cup of Frank's Original Red Hot Sauce into sauce pan.
  • Add a dash or two of fresh ground pepper.
  • Add a dash or two of garlic powder.
  • Mix well with a fork.
  • Set aside.

  • Place The Wings
  • Pre-heat the fryer oil to a temp of 375 - 400 degrees f.
  • Carefully place the raw chicken wings into the fryer basket.
  • Use caution to prevent splattering of the hot fryer oil.

  • Fry The Wings
  • Lower the fryer basket into the pre-heated fryer oil.
  • Close the cover (if equipped).
  • Fry the wings for about 14 minutes at a temp of 375 - 400 degrees f.

  • Fried Wings
  • Wings are done when they turn a dark golden brown.
  • Wings will float when done.
  • Fry the wings slightly longer (darker) for a more crisp texture.

  • Place The Wings
  • Place the fried wings into the sauce pan with the sauce.
  • Put the lid on the sauce pan.

  • Shake The Wings
  • Sauce pan lid is on the sauce pan.
  • Hold the lid so it is secure on the sauce pan.
  • Shake the wings up, down, and sideways for 10 seconds total.
  • Ensure the wings are fully coated with sauce.

  • Buffalo Wings
  • Pour the sauce-coated wings onto a plate.
  • Consume immediately !!!
